Shipping & Installation
Professional art handling represents the concluding phase of the acquisition process, ensuring an artwork is safely transported, securely stored, and installed in its desired space. Once a purchase is complete, galleries, private dealers, and auction houses typically coordinate the logistics, partnering with reputable art handlers to manage packing, shipping, and delivery.
High-end galleries and dealers often provide white-glove services, ensuring artworks arrive in pristine condition and are installed with the utmost care, whether for private collectors or institutions. While some auction houses have in-house teams or relationships with specialized handlers, collectors who prefer to arrange their own shipping and handling can address this during negotiations, giving them the flexibility to work with independent professionals for transportation and placement.
Installation calls for expert placement to ensure each artwork is displayed with intention and care. Whether in private residences, corporate spaces, hotels, or high-end developments, art consultants, interior designers, and architects collaborate with professional handlers to create a seamless, visually compelling arrangement. Some works come with special installation requirements, such as precise lighting, climate control, or structural considerations, which must be carefully addressed to maintain the integrity of the artwork.
If framing is needed, collectors can work with skilled professionals to select materials that complement the work while offering protection. When handling, framing, and installation are not included in a purchase, I’ll provide clients with trusted referrals, ensuring their artwork is both preserved and beautifully presented.
